Three Places Where You Should Never Put Your Microwave Oven

There are places for some things that are proper and yet there are also some places that may prove to be inappropriate or unadvisable. For instance, putting a device that uses electricity near a bath tub could pose as a possible hazard to your safety because there could be instances where that thing could be lodged out of place and could eventually end up falling on the tub full of water.

Microwave ovens, just like other kitchen appliances need to be placed in a proper place in your home. For whatever purpose it may be, there is always a good reason behind every place you choose to put your microwave oven in. Whether it is for safety or convenience purposes, you should definitely have a proper placement for all of your kitchen equipment. Here are a few places where you shouldn't put your microwave ovens in.

1. Don't put it in places where there is running water.

Just like a hairdryer near a bathtub, microwave ovens and running water don't really bode well together. The risk of electrocution would actually be quite high if ever this happens. That would definitely be an unnecessary risk to take for you and for anyone else who would be using either the sink or the microwave oven. Although the chances of a microwave oven falling into a sink would be quite little, that doesn't make it an excuse for anyone to be putting them beside sinks anytime soon.

It's kind of just like a fire, nobody intends of burning a house down, but if you put lit candles near your linens, you already know what's going to happen sooner or later. So as much as possible, keep your microwave ovens far away from running water.

2. Putting them in places with little ventilation would also prove to be quite disadvantageous.

Just like any other home appliance, microwave ovens also generate a certain amount of heat when it gets used. Depending on how long you use it, the amount of heat given off would also vary. Now the excess heat given off by microwave ovens is quite normal, but it is best if the heat that gets given off should dissipate as fast as it can. For one thing, it could ruin the wallpaper behind that microwave oven, and for another it could also potentially damage your microwave oven in the long run. Taking care of your home appliances also means that you know where to put them for proper use and to make sure that it wouldn't get damaged.

3. Don't put your microwave ovens in places where children and toddlers can reach them.

When left unsupervised, children and toddlers can be quite mischievous by tinkering around with things that they can touch and taste. It wouldn't be much of a surprise if a microwave oven with all those buttons and the sounds they make would actually catch a child's attention. This could potentially lead into quite a dangerous situation that could possibly injure your child or damage the microwave oven.
